Surf, the ict cooperative of higher education, chooses service provider Telindus to supply and manage firewall equipment. This is used for the SurfFirewall service, a managed environment that can easily scale up and down in terms of functionality and volume. This is useful during quiet vacation periods, for example. The tender has a maximum value of one and a half million euros over a period of four years.
Surf selected Telindus because of its ability to automate the management of security solutions. This would reduce the management burden, error probability and complexity on the institutions' side. Telindus will provide Surf with security solutions, such as intrusion prevention and data loss prevention.
