The Cabinet is finally allocating 602 million euros for five National Growth Fund projects. Most of the money (267 million euros) in this second round of allocations will go to the PhotonDelta project, aimed at strengthening the photonics ecosystem in the Netherlands
Of that, sixty million is not a government grant but an interest-free loan. Photonics is considered a groundbreaking technology in which electronics and light engineering merge. Especially in Eindhoven, the "light city" of the Netherlands, many researchers and new companies are working on this.
The project Self-thinking molecular systems, aimed at using artificial intelligence to develop new molecular materials, will receive 97 million euros.
153 million has been allocated for the PPP Scaling Up Vocational Education project, which promotes cooperation between vocational education and the labor market. A further 60 million will go to the Cellular Agriculture project and 26 million to the Working Landscapes project, aimed at the sustainable transformation of work locations.
