Special it training for neurodiverse people

More than 20,000 Dutch people are unable to participate in the workforce because of a neurodiverse condition. At the same time, the IT sector is facing a shortage of employees. This is why ITvitae, AWS and Rabobank have jointly developed a special learning program.

There is a need for it professionals who can guide companies in their migration to the cloud. Rabobank has been migrating operations to the cloud since 2015. To ensure that the candidates ITvitae sends to Rabobank are ready for the cloud, AWS has developed a customized training program based on the neurodivergent-friendly learning techniques ITvitae uses. Neurodiversity refers to the differences between people's brains and thus the different ways of thinking and learning.

'It's important to add cloud education to our program,' says Saskia Meeuwessen, general manager of ITvitae. 'When choosing the technology we teach, we follow the market so that our students go out into the world with skills that are in demand.' Dennis Janssen, tech domain manager at Rabobank, agrees. 'The right mix of employees is important, and you can't build an ideal team just by looking at performance indicators or the education someone has received,' he stresses. 'At the same time, we want to be confident that the quality of ITvitae's candidates is high. The cloud is crucial to our future strategy, so we need to make sure they have these skills.
