Following the theme of Craftsmanship is the theme of Quality and Development. Education and child care are only as good as the people who work in them. Ensuring the quality of teachers and educational staff, and taking their work and responsibilities seriously, is essential.
Work pressure is not the only reason why teachers leave education. Research shows that personal challenge, professional development, autonomy and recognition are also important for teachers' job satisfaction (source: 'Departure reasons for teachers and lecturers in primary education, secondary education and vocational education', ResearchNed on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, December 2023).
We face a great challenge at a time of labor shortages in many sectors. Collaboration is therefore key. Teachers, educators, school leaders, administrators, education and child care organizations and politicians must find solutions together to address the shortage. By working together and investing in the quality and development of all education and childcare professionals, we can ensure that education continues to flourish and future generations receive the best possible learning experiences.
Quality and development are inseparable. Quality is dynamic and constantly evolving. By participating in continuing education and training, you continue to improve your craftsmanship.
A visit to NOT 2025 will contribute to your development: you will have discussions with peers, broaden your perspective and gain inspiration, including in the area of quality and development.
