About this series
When children learn to read, a new world opens up to them. But learning to read well also means getting lots of reading mileage. As reading specialists in primary education, we cannot stress enough the importance of being able to read well and learning to read. It is literally and figuratively the foundation on which you base your future chances in life. That is why Zwijsen developed the completely new AVI series 'Ik leer lezen met Zwijsen' in cooperation with teachers and bookshops. With the books in this series children practice reading by themselves using funny, exciting and above all recognizable stories. Well-known authors and illustrators such as Paul van Loon, Manon Sikkel, Hugo van Look and Mark Janssen have collaborated on the series.

Reading pleasure begins here
The series grows with the child's reading skills and consists of different themes. For example, children can read the stories "Come with me to my house" and "Mees gaat met de bus" all by themselves right from the start. These are the easiest books in the series and contain single words in the illustrations and a few short sentences. The other 16 books are real reading stories about pirates, robots, dancing, detective, animals, gaming, adventure, school and humor that newcomers will enjoy. Each book also comes with a worksheet with fun assignments about the story. A great way to test in class whether children understand what they have read. In this way you also stimulate the reading comprehension of your students.
Free introductory book
This new series will not be released until February 2023, but as a visitor to the NOT you can get acquainted in advance! All visitors to our booth will receive the book "a puppy in the classroom" for free. This funny school story is written at AVI M3 and tells the story of Miss San and her young puppy. What happens when there is a young puppy in the classroom? And how do the children keep this playful dog hidden from strict teacher Lin?
