We will soon be attending the NOT in large numbers. Wonderful to get our educational hearts all fired up with new materials & developments. Yet there is also a downside to this coin: so many people, so many impressions, so many movements, so many sounds and so many inputs. What an enormous amount of stimuli! You would get overexcited...

School is full of stimuli
This can happen to us at school. After a day full of "Teacher, can I..., Teacher I don't understand..., Teacher what should I do?", helping to solve quarrels, preparing and teaching all lessons, checking, analyzing results, consulting with colleagues, attending and following up on MDOs. The list is endless. The many balls that you keep in the air during the day as a teacher or supervisor and the stimuli that come your way can make you feel completely drained at the end of the day.

Lots of stimuli for your children too
Screaming children on the playground, lots of swarming movements in gym class, paying attention to all the instructions while neatly completing your tasks, fun times and awkward times with your friends and dealing with lessons you don't understand. A lot is asked of children. To really mature, it is important that children are in their "Window of Tolerance," their neutral mode. If they are there then they are able to develop to their fullest potential and behave well socially. That's a good thing. So how do you get into your neutral mode?

Self-care in the form of RUST helps!
Both for you as a teacher or supervisor and for the children in your group. At the Stiltehuisjes we know how to give shape to RUST at your school or BSO. This can be done in a very accessible way with our Silence exercises or with our versatile Silence activities. And what about a fully equipped House of Silence, equipped with all comforts, to relax and come to RUST? All with the aim of getting back into your 'Window of Tolerance', but certainly also to develop a basic skill of SELF-CARE.

The Stiltehuisje concept
In order to realize these goals, the Stiltehuisje was designed as a total concept, in which:

  • awareness is raised in each child and thus steps to RUST & SELF-CARE are taken;
  • children are offered activities that allow them to RUST ;
  • children are facilitated to feel and experience what is going on, without trying to brush it off right away;
  • children are helped to put words to their emotions, behaviors and physical sensations;
  • teachers and supervisors are supported in effective screening of the group to know what is going on at the individual and deeper level;
  • teachers and counselors are guided in the process around RUST & SELF-CARE of each child.

Experience RUST yourself?Every time a Silent House is placed at a school or BSO, teachers and supervisors cry out: 'Can I use that too? I want to sit in it too! Now, you can! At NOT (at the Stiltehuisjes booth) a fully equipped Stiltehuisje is available for those who need RUST. Or maybe you want to learn how you can use RUST for your children and bring more RUST into your group. Explore what RUST can do for you and your group and come along RUST!

You will find the Silence Houses at booth 01.A053.
