Choice Guide universities designates Open University as best
The Open University offers the best computer science programs at the wo level in the eyes of students. This distance learning provider scores well above average. Nijmegen (Radboud University) comes next, followed by Utrecht University. This is according to the new Keuzegids universities.
The ranking is based on students' judgments. The Open University is particularly appreciated for the content of studies and the method of testing. Even in information science, this specialist in education is far and away at the top. Especially in computer science, the differences in appreciation are large. Amsterdam VU and The Hague (Leiden University computer science and economics) are the stragglers here.
For technical computer science, the best place to go is TU Delft. Highly ranked also is medical computer science at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Business it at the University of Twente also gets a decent score.
The latter study has very high dropout rates in the first year. But an average number of students manage to graduate within four years. For medical computer science at the UvA, about the same is true. In technical computer science at Delft and Eindhoven, an average number of students advance to the second year. But there it is somewhat more difficult to finish within four years.
