MBO Rijnland, Haagse Hogeschool, the municipality of Zoetermeer and the business community are joining forces to create more and better apprenticeships in Zoetermeer and the surrounding area. This should reduce the shortage on the labor market and boost talent development in the region.
The collaboration focuses on professionals in the ICT, technology and welfare & care sectors. The cooperating parties are committed to improving lifelong development, the connection of courses, and innovative (hybrid) education in Zoetermeer and the region. Among other things, this should result in more outflow of ict professionals.
After a cooperation agreement was signed at the end of last year, an implementation agenda has now been drawn up. This sets out for three years how vocational education in ict, technology and welfare & care will be deepened and broadened to better connect with the labor market.
MBO Rijnland has 12 branches in seven different cities: Leiden, Alphen aan den Rijn, Gouda, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Waddinxveen, Woerden and Zoetermeer. Besides intermediate vocational education, it also provides secondary general adult education (vwo, havo and vmbo-t). It has 17,000 students.
